ABOUT Captain's
Cup
The Captain's
Cup is our coveted,
annual event that made its
debut in September of
2000. This
competitive, fun
event has a Ryder Cup
format and
is played between the
WRDGA and the Women's
Syracuse
District Golf Association.
The site of the
Captain's
Cup alternates each year
between each city.
The Rochester captain's position is
held for two
years by the previous year's
president. Our
team
participants
acquire points from the current year's
events and need to meet the WRDGA's
eligibility requirements as noted in our
Rules.
Each
district
team is represented
by those players who com-
pete well against their
peers within their handicap
range.
Jane Newhouse (Brook-Lea),
past WRDGA President
of
2000, and MaryJane Mahar (Oak
Hill) were instrumental in developing this
tournament.
